E! But let add that in the final analysis I do think that esp. for big companies the overall effect of a strong U.S. dollar is bad - earnings will be hurt. It might be difficult to trace exactly what is going on but I think this "fundamental tenet" still holds true.

Shane,

The opposite of the "can't raise prices" argument is the "can raise prices" argument. This might come after those "distressed foreign companies" have sold every last kitchen sink for peanuts, and haven't built any new ones. This should then become a field day for those able to meet demand. So maybe we should worry about seeing inflation 6/9 months down the road along with deflation today?

E
