Tamarack Valley Energy (TVE-V) Bill Bonner, President & Portfolio Manager, Brickburn Asset Management on BNN.ca Wednesday Oct 23, @ 1300ET Top Pick

A pick from the past. The stock has done well since we first made the pick and still has lots of room to grow. The company recently announced an acquisition and farm-in that ramps up their inventory, cash flow, and upside. The stock still trades at 3 times the cash flow after the new asset has been added to the mix. Looking into 2014 they will be 60 percent and up liquids and 40 percent natural gas - very typical for a producer their size, and will be about 5,000 boed on average in 2014. The acquisition of Sure Energy, combined with the 177 section farm-in from the major, leave the company with about about 165 Cardium oil locations, 200 low risk Viking oil locations, and possibly another 160 optional Viking locations. Based on initial production rates of the Cardium and Viking inventory and applying a risk discount, it becomes easy to see a material production increase around the corner. Although it will take both time and capital to optimize their project inventory, the market should show them more respect over the next few quarters. Consequently, they could trade closer to their peer average at more than 5 times the cash flow.
