Where did you copy that from? Are you ashamed to post your source? *Kleck’s survey also included gun uses against animals and did not distinguish civilian uses from military of police uses.* So what? My SIL used a shotgun to kill a pitbull that had killed one dog and wounded another in his backyard and threatened the safety of himself, his wife and small children. He had earlier used the same shotgun to deter an apartment break-in without firing it. Most defensive uses of firearms undoubtedly don't involve firing the weapon.
