the authorities are destructing a full generation of savers and small investors. Applying taxes on small investors let say with equity below $100,000 to $150,000 on capital gains on any amount gained are destructive as are taxes on meager interest rate income if any.

Those that have the real means, know very well, how to find tax loop holes and invest trough companies located overseas where the tax rate is much smaller or use all kind of tax shelters like commercial RE holding for example which has a tax deduction embedded as depreciation of 100% over 28 years.

Others use rail-car or truck leasing schemes where depreciation is much faster like 7 years if I correctly recall.

A 7 years depreciation schedule is almost totally waiving the capital tax gain on other investment if held in the same corporation.

I am not sure about airplane leasing but the game of engaging in scheme of overseas corporate investments and leasing of transportation means give a very unfair tax exemption to those that have the means and economic justification to set up such totally legal setups not to mention other dreamed up schemes by their accountants which trow in travel and leisure expense as business expense.

The above is also a main reason for Buffet buying a railroad company, and I know others well do to billionaires that arrived to their riches by using the above setup. Not to mention travel and leisure expenses showered on various government official who need to "inspect" some of you projects and their justification etc.,.

A 15% to 25% capital tax exempt situation makes you rich relatively quickly and this richness induces even more benefits embedded into law by those you supported in their election.

That is why in each measure of great importance a lot of small almost unnoticeable amendments are added, which results in more benefits for those financial predators who only gain even more riches on the electorate expense.
