I have to agree with you on our failed educational system. We need to make sure everyone takes economic history lessons. If only people would read their history books, they'd understand why Socialism has always failed to provide as much economic growth as Capitalism. Only thing I'll disagree with you on is that it's not necessarily the young folks who are the Socialists. I'm finding that it's a lot of the older folks. Young people supported Obama in droves, until they realized that he refused to prosecute the banksters and started engaging in massive profligacy and money printing. Then the young people supported Occupy Wall Street.

I think the Socialism in this country comes from the Baby Boomers primarily. These are the folks who have spent their entire lives in one selfish orgy of self-destruction and putting the tab on everyone else. Anyway, I hear your frustration at the turn this country's taken. I too am frustrated. I am retiring in a few years as well, and then it will be up to the younger generation to decide whether they will turn this country around or embrace the policies of the Baby Boomers.
