OT:McCarver then on getting to Philly, got Carleton to say McCarver is my catcher,period--i won't accept anyother catcher. So McCarver got to be The Catcher for two of truly greatest pitchers in baseball history. i was in the stands with my wife the year one his 20th game in a 27 game win season. Where Carleton's record was 27-10 a team without Carleton decision was 32-71!! and team in last Place. One of few mistakes cardinals have ever made in their history, it is the greatest mistake in Cardinal history, they traded Carleton for Rick Wise. And it was te best trde in Phillies history. Egad, Phillies traded for nothinjg, two future Hall of Famers to the Cubs. Ferguson Jenkins and Ryne Sandberg! i see this will be cards 19th trip to WS. Win, their WS record will be 12-7. Carleton learned from Gibson, to pitch FAST; when Gibson and Carleton pitched against each the game was over FAST--they may have the shortest 9 inning game pitched--i think they were in two 1-0 games Dial-up?? Do you have the option for hi-speed??? It is worth it. i could NEVER go back to dial-up---i am very lucky as it is to now have 3mb per second connection in an ultra rural area--that only because i am on Coast line where WS millionaires have estate--so i have hi-speed as a result their political power. When i had dial-up my speed was just 7kb per second!!!! Tje internet experience was naught but frustration. If you have the option t get off dial-up, get it--it is worth it. Woody are you in a "no access to hi-speed" location? 90% of my township:30 square miles, still only have dial-up. As it is, versus national average, 3mb persecond, below average.
