I joined the hippie movement in the San Francisco Bay Area on the early 60's.

I remember how people reacted to that first generation of acid rock. The new music. It was light years ahead of anything anyone had ever done.

It was so much fun. All of we kids spent almost every night smoking pot and listening to the new music. Lighting candles and incense. We would put on the music and all sit back and take it in.

I knew all of the first generation from day one. Every Friday night we would go to the Filmore. The whole world was straight but a few of us. We had our costumes on i.e. long hair and colorful clothes.

The music was Quicksilver Messenger Service, Country Joe and the Fish, Big Brother and the Holding company, Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane.

Here is one of our favorite tripping songs;

Smoke a joint and listen to this one-lol!
