The police were called, they came out and left with the dog in the fenced backyard. The police did say he could "take care of it himself." Meaning he could shoot the dog, which he did. I'm just guessing but I suspect they didn't want to go through whatever reporting is required when they use their own weapons.

Yes, the family were unable to go into their own backyard for fear of attack by a dog that had killed one dog and mangled the leg of another. Their Lab/German Shepherd mix pet had the pitbull's head in her mouth and the pitbull was locked on her front leg. My SIL had to hit the pitbull in the head with the butt of his shotgun to get it to release.

How would a sissy handle this?
