Maybe, I don't like any culture that is sexist and subjugates women. Men and women are segregated and women often have a very hard time in that culture.

I just finished reading two books about women and Islam: Infidel (an autobiography by Ayaan Hirsi Ali) and Virgins of paradise by Barbara Wood? Both terrifying accounts of women's suppression in Islam. And both seemed truthful and even handed.

I will stay in a state of doubt based on your assurances, until I learn more, but I don't believe in any culture that preaches inequality of the sexes. Especially as pronounced by god. Both books point out how little girls are just crushed in that culture.

Human rights and the protection of the children takes precedent over all belief systems and cultures in my world.

In the world men have 99% of all the wealth. The women have had a very hard time throughout history at the hands of all cultures and religions.

It has only been very recently that little girls could grow up fully self actualized in any culture in the world including our own. They could even vote until 1919 and that was a terrible fight. Force feeding women protestors.

Males have made life very hard for women everywhere and for all time going back to the beginning.

Well, back to the bonobos. They got it right.

I would have felt better if he had picked Buddhism. But I think all girls do better being raised existentialists. How I raised my girls. It gives them power and a chance at self actualization.
