Didn't the CFO hold a conference with the analysts last week and tell them that the 'Asian problem' was under control and the quarter was looking good? Anyone remember that news just before the big upgrades....

should i be worried about all my companies (amat) w. asian exposrue?

To avoid repearting what I thought can be the reason see the following:
Message 2828124

in short the reason Sun is not down so much:

1. People already know the bad news (that is why the stock is in the high 30's-low 40's and not $60-$70's!).

2. If someone is dying the first thing he needs is Oxygen and then water and food, and then perhaps a nice suit and a roof over the head! For South East Asia to get out of their economic problems they first need a better information technology infrastructure before anything else. Companies such as Sun, IBM and HP will the big winners IMHO.

As for your other high tech stocks, dont worry, soon you will see these high techs will be assimilating their competitors in the South East Asia by buying them cheap, and even if this does not happen remember this is a temporary event, as I said a dying person first needs some Oxygen (e.g. companies such as SUNW, IBM, HWP, ASND, COMS, etc.) but soon he will need water and food (e.g. companies such as AMAT,and other semis, CPQ, DELL, MSFT, ORCL, IFMX, SYBS,), and then perhaps a nice roof over his head (e.g. AOL type of companies), and then maybe even a fancy suit (e.g. comapnies such as CA, SAP, etc.).

As always just my humble opinion!
