Yes, this was part of the propaganda campaign.

Rescission because someone got sick has been illegal for 15 years. The argument made against Wellpoint in 2009 was totally bogus; it turned out they had handled 200,000 cases of breast care in the previous year and there were exactly FOUR instances in which rescission occurred, and those four involved fraud.

Prior to 2009 instances of rescission amounted to less than 0.4% of insureds, and practically always involved fraud. Besides that, there was a specific appeal process that resolved many cases. And if that failed, the insurer was always faced with the threat of insanely expensive litigation.

As I previously stated, it simply wasn't a problem to begin with; the administration used it to sell this horrible, deadly legislation to the ignorant and gullible.

I talked to my cousin this AM, the one who is an MD and a R.........and he was complaining about Obamacare and the new electronic requirements they have to do. Every call we have starts out like that...........complaining about Obamacare........to the point where I don't want to talk to him even though I like my cousin a lot. Well today I lost it..............he was so shocked he went quiet.

After yelling for about two minutes, I said to him.......we have to stop this bickering among ourselves, its hurting this country and does nothing to improve our way of life. Then I cited the stats...........shorter lifespans than other first world countries, the overall quality of health care for the ave citizen, the higher infant death rate, etc. I said to him........you know these stats and you know they shouldn't be happening in one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Thank God my cousin is a smart, reasonable man.......he calmed down and I finally got him to talking about the Broncos/Colts game. And then it was fine.

I wish we all could do that........because if something doesn't give soon and the internal bickering doesn't stop, we are going to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs........namely the US of A.
