Romney lost because 67% of Americans, who get some sort of benefit from the government, thought the 47% comment was referring to THEM. Some didn't though, like the Tea Partier that said, "Keep your damn government hands off my Medicare!"

Hi tejek; Re the 47% figure and the fact that the majority of the adult population is "working".

In the anti-government view, you have to count the people on welfare or disability along with the people who work for the government. Neither of them is likely to vote to reduce the size and power of government. That's what Romney was talking about, votes not whether someone shows up somewhere and gets a paycheck. And "people who work for the government" includes a lot of people who are not government employees. There is a huge section of the private sector that is sucking on the government tit one way or another.


And your point is? That gov't is beneficial? I already knew that.
