The real tragedy is that none of it had to happen. Humans can deal with lots of challenges and raise the living standards of everyone when working together. However, when humans are brainwashed by psychos to hate others with minor physical differences to benefit a few, the tenuous connections that make productivity possible are severed. Humanity and many other species will suffer the consequences of the short-sighted selfish acts of a few in the elite.
I think it's too late to avoid a significant decline, but there is still a chance to minimize suffering through local action and decentralization of power and dependency. Complete self reliance is much less productive than cooperation, but centralization of power in politics and banking must be weakened and the only practical way I can see is through replacement of those functions locally.
Talk to friends and neighbors and start forging alliances, and creating a new local (non-federal) system to replace the banking system before it fails. Chase Banks recently announced they might restrict access to money in bank accounts to prop up their own failing system.
Get prepped, but simultaneously work with others to make the preps only your second line of defense.
