You should try it Jeff, I'm sure they planned on all the idiots and Joe 6ers. It is the easiest thing yet for changing something within a PC. And it's NOT at all like downloading a driver and having to uncompress it then install it.

Web site or phone:

1) You connect.
2) It says wait.
3) It Then says if a new upgrade is available for your modem (because it has already checked your modem and code version).
4) It asks yes or no if you want to update.
5) You click yes or no. Yes in this case.
6) it says wait.
7) It says you are now updated to version XX, now push finish.

All done, any sap can do it...I did. <GG>

The companies will advertise and get people to upgrade...not to worry.

It's the cheapest way for the companies and the easiest way for the customers, AND you still have to do it at some point if you go buy one it's part of the set up. This is the future way of udating your modem we talked about a year ago.

And remember all the OEM PCs with x2 modems already installed will need to be upgraded.
