Re: Please take the ORCL discussions to the ORCL thread. Thank you!>>

I disagree. This discussion is very relevant to CPQ in terms of selling NT based hardware. ed, please continue.

Nowadays if you want to make money in the stock market, you have to look at the big picture
and be very sophisticated , otherwise I suggest you put your money in the bank !!!!

ORCL blamed its poor performance to the Asian currency crisis, is it truel?

We see PC sales is boomming in ASIA from ACER, CPQ, IDC's report, then why ORCL can not sell ? We did not see MSFT had the same problems as ORCL had in ASIA, and actually its stock started to move recently. We see DELL, IBM, HWP, CPQ , ACER all shipped
record units of PCs, then why not ORCL, or SUNW ? We read from the news that NT based workstation is flying and are selling everywhere, and we see INTC keeps dropping its CPU's
price and shipped record volume of CPUs, the same for CYRX , and AMD . We see the price
of major components kept dropping, i.e CPU, memory...etc, as well as the system. We see
ACER's study that with $500 PCs, it can still make a reasonable profit. We know the size of the pie is fixed (even with 50% annual growth), and every vendors had record growth, some of them probably had larger growth than the general market growth, then someone had to
sacrifice, and someone's lunch have to be taken by others. We see all those record growth
are all in the PC area and NT based hardwares. So, ORCL's fal short of earning proved to
me once more that CPQ, DELL, IBM, HWP will report a record earning next q !!!

Why ORCL and SUNW will fail?????

We used to have two market for the computers, i.e MSFT based (win95,dos) PCs for low end and UNIX based engineering workstations. As the INTEL's CPU gaining more and more
speed and cheaper, INTEL CPU based workstation is now eating the UNIX based market
of highend workstations, that is where the NT came to play. We all know that as a school boys , we all started our first learning of computer on windows, few kids knew UNIX, so
why not buy NT based workstations at work, and which we are more familiar with and cheaper with similar capability ???? That is the reason we see ORCL being dumpped like
crazy by those big boys !!!!!!!!!!!!!
