Food stamps (SNAP and TANF) are not in the same category as SS and MC. People bought the OASDI from their paychecks. The I stands for insurance. They paid for it. SNAP and TANF are welfare programs, flat out and recipients didn't have to pay anything in to receive them. The poverty threshold is calculated as the bottom 10% of incomes. If you have $2B in assets but no income, guess what, you can collect food stamps. Makes sense right? Also if the bottom 10% regardless of what assets are owned, cars, televisions, X-boxes, refrigerators, air conditioning, which polls show the majority of the "poor" own and the rich didn't even have 100 years ago, there is no way to cure poverty because no matter what, there will always be a bottom 10% mathematically. This shit is all about class envy and promoting it. Pure Marxism.
