David, any Idea who MCI uses for WDM? Check out the Article.

I'm not sure who MCI is using, but in Par's letter to the shareholders in the '97 Annual Report, he mentions winning "more than 20 new, major contracts since fiscal 1997 began, including key relationships with ABSN, MCI/US Postal Service, NETCO, and Xerox."

Maybe?

John, I sent John Gerdelman, who is President of MCI's Network Operations

Here is his response.

David P.--- Any comments on the passive vs active forms of DWM"
Does this approach rule out Osicom's Gigamux?

"We have an RFP and a spec out to suppliers and expect to run the
qualification process over the next few months. We are mostly engaged in the passive method versus active where you would use CIENNA."

"Net - we have not selected a supplier. The 80 GBS trial announcement from last week was with Nortel technology of 8 wavelengths at 10 gbs each."

"True field deployment is probably in 1999."
