Oracle Volume -2: Breaks Mark Set In '96 By Comparator NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--With half an hour left until Tuesday's market close, Oracle Corp. (ORCL) broke the Nasdaq Stock Market's record for trading volume in a single session as more than 152 million shares changed hands. The previous record was set May 5, 1996, when volume in Comparator Systems Corp. (IDID) totaled about 152 million shares.

Sure there is strength. Investors are hoping for a pop, and shorts knowing investors are hoping for a pop. That generates buying. There will be a pop in the morning but right down it goes again. I am no longer short on ORCL. Covered at 22 5/8. Not bad for a day. I would love to buy ORCL, but don't expect to much until after December options expiration.
