A ton were being lied to. You haven't addressed that.
WTF? OF COURSE we were lied to. Even those selling us the loans were lied to. Their bosses told them to not worry about it, just "approve approve approve."

Easy to see now, huh? Easy to put the blame on the bankers, huh?

I don't recall anyone who made it big during the real estate bubble give credit to the bankers who helped inflate it. Instead, they bragged about how much money they made flipping their properties. However, those who ended up holding the bag at the end blame anyone but themselves.

Do you see this "castle in the sky" mentality at work here? Do you see how people can naturally become hypocrites when they believe the lies and get burned because of it?

Most importantly, do you trust politicians, who are perhaps the best liars around, to protect us from such lies?
