My guess is people put <EOM> after their one line statement to tell people that there is no need to click on the entire post.

If you are scanning the whole list of messages SI shows the first line of what's posted. If you see <EOM> after a line it saves you time because there is no need to click on the post.

Saves bandwith! Of course COMS needs all the help it can get so feel free to click on the messages anyway to spur on sales.
