Let's stick to what we can verify.

From Edgar Database, available thru SI, SyQuest Profile

S-3 (11/14/1997) 242165 Bytes

Assuming the conversion of the all remaining Series 4
and Series 5 Preferred Stock, the Company would be
obligated to issue an additional 13.2 million shares of
Common Stock. Accordingly, as of October 27, 1997, a
total of approximately 75.2 million shares of Common
Stock would be issuable to holders of all outstanding
preferred stock, warrants and option. As such, current
shareholders will experience a dilutive effect on their
ownership interest in the Company upon the issuance of
such Common Stock.

Added to the 53.8 million listed in SI profile for 9/30/97 that
comes to 129 million.

John, You might want to confirm the facts before you begin accusing individuals of "negative hype with no supporting information" and "Some people will say anything to cause a short in the stock."

Syquest's SEC filings will tell you that they needed to increase the authorized to 240 million in part due to their desire to have available shares to cover those "accounted for" beyond the existing 120 million authorized.

Perhaps in the future you'll consider simply asking fellow posters how certain info might be verified. BTW, this shares info was discussed and explained on this thread a short time ago.

Regards - Dale

For verification, here's a brief rehash of the shares issue as of a month ago:

In Syquest's 11/14 S-3 SEC filing they state: "as of October 27, 1997, a total of approximately 75.2 million shares of Common Stock would be issuable to holders of all outstanding preferred stock, warrants and options."

And, in their 11/12 press release titled "SyQuest Stockholders Approve Measures at Special Meeting" they state: "The total number of common shares outstanding as of Oct. 28, 1997 was 68.4 million shares."

At a minimum, adding the two figures above, Syquest had already "accounted for" 143.6 million shares of the 240 million authorized. (BTW, the vote to increase to 240 million was held November 5th).

Actually, there is additional information available to suggest the number is now well over 150 million shares, but this should get the point across.

RE: Number of SYQT Shares - Real Data.

John,

>> Who is telling you that Syquest has committed shares to someone before they were authorized. This is negative hype with no supporting information. Some people will say anything to cause a short in the stock.<<

Who is telling? SyQuest is. From their 11/12 press release, "Of the increased shares, approximately 32 million shares will be used to satisfy warrant commitments from prior financing rounds". Where I come from, 120+32 = 152 million shares committed.

>> Lets see you or Michael Coley produce one shread of information to support your knowledge about commited share before the share were authorized right now. <<

See above, and my message from about a month ago where I referenced the press release:

Message 2708315

>> what is your objective on your "don't quote news" with your boy Coley ready to verify the info at 153 million when he posted his reply to your comment JeffM. <<

Sorry, the 153 million was from memory. It looks like it's really just 152 million. <G>

P.S. Dale, thanks for explaining in my absence. I just got home from work about 45 minutes ago, so I couldn't respond in a timely manner. I certainly don't mind hearing someone say "prove it". I try to always back up my posts with confirmed data, or clearly state if it's only my opinion. I respect people who question messages that appear to be purely speculation or hype.

I mean, who can blame the guy for doubting? Without seeing the numbers in black and white, who would believe that SYQT has gone from 11 million shares committed to 152 million shares committed in a matter of months?
