The Chinese authoritarian capitalist system elects and deposes it leaders based on results. That's why it's kicking our ass, as far as economic performance. If a Mao arose and proposed a disruptive "cultural revolution" or "shutting down the government" now, he'd be killed pretty quickly. An option we just don't have with our Tea Party.

It may be that our form of government will be a historical failure.
