That test only works for the fortunate land of north America. Europe, the Russian empire, and the far east suffered through a period of many decades that were worse than what came before. We want world peace and justice for all. And we know what the science says about how to achieve that. People have always wanted that. History shows us if you want peace, you need to prepare for war. And it shows that free markets beat collective economies every time. Steven Pinker points out in his book The better angels of our nature that we have less violence today than ever before in history. Thank the greatest generation. If world communism and fascism had prevailed, the world would have been a lot worse off.
