Hi koan; Re: "I thought the pubs fought FDR on his New Deal?"; Some Republicans did fight FDR on the New Deal. The problem is in generalizing it. I've had people tell me that Democrats are child molesters. Well the truth is that some Democrats molest children (but probably fewer than Republicans who are against Social Security). But my point is that in terms of the voting, negotiating and public support for the law, Obamacare and Social Security are nowhere near equivalent. Obamacare was rammed down the throat of the Republicans in a manner that hasn't been seen in this country since the Republicans rammed emancipation down the throats of the Democrats. -- Carl
