Guys/Gals..RSNA comments from a friend of Caprius in attendance... ........Caprius had a good RSNA. It was the busiest they have had. Numerous good appointments with interested people, substantial television coverage (all local), Imaging Diagnostics had a long interview with Jack. Caprius sponsored a dinner and meeting with all the luminaries in the industry. Attending were Harms, Schnall, Dr. Shtern from the Office of Women's Health of the HHS Dept., Dr. Kaiser from Jena, Dr Khul from Bonn, Drs Viamonte and Esserman from Mt. Sinai in Miami (my bro practiced there...at one time..still does I think), Dr. Hylton from UCSF, Dr. Sumkin from Magees, and Dr. Rhoden who is now at Dallas.(and wants to get a machine...) These are the real opinion makers and advocates in one way or another of the use of MRI for Breast disease. Among the most important moments, however were the technical lectures especially the one given by Drs. Sadowsky, Harms and Schnall. They were very supporting of the Technology, and Sadowsky"s entire lecture was about the Aurora and all cases reviewed were done in Faulkner Center. Most importantly, however, because of Caprius installation at Faulkner and the forthcoming installations at Magees, Englewood and Arkansas, the radiology and medical community in general is becoming more optimistic about Breast MRI. Capr discussions with prospects are more substantive and the number of interested parties is increasing. The clinical utility of this modality is no longer being widely questioned, ( Maybe ... still by our friend and mentor dc Fleckenstein... who probably won't go with us to Virgin Islands...if he doesn't get a bit more bullish..) the issue now is waiting for the scientific data that will provide the proof. and this is ........ the rest of the story... as Paul Harvey would say. So drive them into the ground..I still think they may just be worth something someday... risk, courage and brains are sometimes rewarded... (strange combo???) or is it daring fullishness and lunacy??? were the pioneers fullish or did they build a nation?? luis
