One of the memes that you people have latched onto is that "young and healthy" aren't interested in health insurance

Which is interesting and assumes that people in that situation are too stupid to think about the possibilities of communicable disease or accidents

..which could very well describe the mentality of young folks in your neck of the woods

Given what they have for role models

I would caution you though about expanding that insular thinking to the country as a whole

Once you clear Mason/Dixon, there is whole 'nother country

Epicure's wager is quite safe
