Vancouver is predicted predicted to have a storm arrive tomorrow night and last much of the weekend, then clear and coldest temperatures of the season Monday -- high of 7 and low of 2, too close to freezing for my liking -- and then back into a series of systems by Tuesday night.

That Siberian low has definitely arrived. We are in the midst of what is supposed to be 50 mm (2 inches) of rain in 30 hours, but the winds aren't too bad, 30 kph gusting to 50, and the air in the system has definitely warmed since it was in Siberia.

As the first big rainy windy storm of the fall, this is the one that brings the leaves down from the deciduous trees. I just went out on a long walk during which I used my boots to clear more than one storm drain.
