TAKE THOSE DISCOUNTS Many times you may have a bill due in 30 days with lets say a 2 % discount if paid on time. So you figure big deal; 2 % on a $100.00 payment is only $2.00. Do you realize that the $2.00 represents an annual interest rate of 24%. ( 12 months times 2% per month = 24 % ) If you up the discount to 5% then the annual interest rate becomes 60%.
