>>>All because the Fed failed in 2008<<<

The Fed began to fail in 1987 when they and everyone else panicked and acted to save the stock market. Then they failed worse in 1998 when they rescued Long Term Capital Management from its Black Scholes misadventure. Then it failed far worse about 2000-2001 trying to rescue the dot.com bubble speculators. Then it became a disaster-maker lowering interest rates to buck up the stock markets 2002-2005 and creating the housing bubble. Since 2008 the Fed has been a lunatic asylum playing with Monopoly money.

So now a quarter of a century of insane misrule has prevailed. Almost as good a job as John Law did on France about 1715. Not as bad as the assignats in the 1790s or the Weimar example. We don't have a violent revolution or a defeated and humiliated military/political situation.

But it is truly amazing that a free country with a free press and supposedly educated citizens can do this to itself without a national emergency like the American Revolution and the Continental Congress.
