Jack,

Just wanted you to know that I always appreciate your well informed contributions to the TOPRO board. I like your reasoning processes and feel that we are fortunate to have a professional view from the consultant side of the computer business. Your insights have been original and IMO are extremely important in allowing the board to have a better rounded view of the what is going on in the computer biz.

Thanks,

Gerry

Jack

I can ditto your last point. I have a good friend who is very good at her job in the computer section of a large manufacturing company. When they tried to put her in charge of their y2k committee, she did everything she could to avoid it. And for just the reasons you expressed - risk, blame, etc. Plus there is a fear of being left behind others while off on the y2k project. Their response? They hired an outside firm.

Dear Jack: I too have a lot of consulting experience and agree with your comments. Especially #5. Also, my recollection is the B-Tree has some similar product for which they are asking $45,000?? JDN
