The "spying on everyone" started after 9/11, and we haven't come up with any better way yet. The problem is, our intelligence agencies have NO ONE inside any stateless terrorists organizations, and aren't likely to get anyone there. But, we have made tremendous advances in computers, software and communications. So, we collect everything from every country (stateless) into one big haystack, and use our magic to extract all the terrorist needles we can. We get some info. Use it to kill bin Laden. Use it to prevent attacks. Use it to target terrorists and kill them. Have success. We'll keep doing it. Some of it is just for the amusement of the spooks, like Merkel's cellphone. We can crack down on that sort of crap.

Obama = Bush III Your problem was closing off your brain to the facts 6 years ago when Obomber filled his admin with Bush and clinton neo-con/neo-lib retreads and when I and a few others tried to tell y that you responded with the ignore button then proceeded to lie to yourself and others for 6 years that it just wasn't so.
