I left out the price of purchase and why I bought them because it would be long-winded. But what I can say is that wdc, deck, & bfr were my biggest gainers. Over the past couple of years I have read 100 value investing books and lately i have been reading on macro economics. My style of value investing is looking at how a company has been priced historically(p/s, p/b p/e, p/cf, with a focus on gross margin profit margin and balance sheet). If i can find it trading at the lower end of that range I try to find out why. If i think it is temporary I will buy.

I think retail has been hit this year because of sequestration, payroll tax hike, and/or high teen unemployment. And with the Fed focus on unemployment this should be temporary.
