I'm not sure I understand your position on gleaning. Who cares who shows up? At least the food doesn't rot on the plant- because that's all it's going to do without the gleaners. And so "rich" people show up- good- they'll get a better idea of what it's like to harvest food, and they'll know where their food comes from. If farmers are smart, they'll use these opportunities to make contacts with these people- since I would think rich people make better customers. Heck, maybe crafty farmers will find ways to make a buck off gleaning days- that allows people to still glean for free, which is really what gleaning is about- by offering them other services or products.

I guess if you really have an issue, and you'd rather have the crop rot, don't allow gleaners. But seriously, this is what you're worried about? Life is too short to be as negative as you seem to be.

My time-tested method of car buying:

Find a fully depreciated, mechanically sound vehicle. If it has body damage reducing it's value, all the better!

Buy it for cash, even if you have to borrow (through a personal loan) to do so.

Buy the minimum state required insurance.

Drive it until it dies, or when you know an expensive repair is near, sell it for what you paid for it. Go back to the first step.
