Glad to hear about your nobility. My guess is that you might be surprised to hear just how many of the folk who post here have experiences of the sort you are touting for yourself. Among that set, my guess is their feelings are like my own--your logic leads to an argument to simply ignore poverty in the US. Because it's not as soul destroying as that in third world countries. That's a genuinely bad argument.
