The reason for this is part of the reason why we, as conservatives, have lost our country. Follow this line reasoning... 1. The owners of large corporations want more money. RINOs are their champions. 2. Poor people need/want to buy things, but have no money. Democrats are their champions 3. "Idle" money that is held/saved/invested by the non-elite (e.g., taxpayers) does not benefit the owners of large corporations, central banks, or governments. Do you see the symbiosis between Democrats and RINOs? They share a common need to redistribute wealth among the non-elite to the poor. It explains much of the cooperation that goes on between RINOs and Democrats as well. So, back to your story, with my observations in mind, it makes perfect sense that the government would give free gas to the poor and build free gas stations in poor neighborhoods. You and I have to pay it with our "idle" money, and it frees up the poor to give more of their welfare checks and food stamps (which we pay for too) to the owners of large corporations, such as Walmart and the products they sell. Incidentally, as a sidebar to your story, a recent article shows Walmart's strong dependence on food stamp revenue , which also compliments the story that you cited and my line of reasoning above [1]. The net result of all of this is that the owners of the oil industry, large corporations, central banks, Democrats, and RINOs are very happy. They routinely take the money of responsible people and give it to irresponsible people. There are not enough responsible tax payers to vote them out. My use of the term "idle" money above not only signifies saved/held/invested capital, but also the future earnings potential of responsible citizens, since there is actually no real capital, per se, to begin with. So, the very bottom line is that RINOs are NOT conservatives. They are Republicans, but they are functionally the same as Democrats if one considers the symbiosis that they share.
