Judy,

<<January will be an interesting month. Wow, if a telecom like LU or TLAB prewarns ... or if a boxmaker like IBM or CPQ prewarns ...>>

CPQ has done just that in late Feb or early Mar 1996 - I forgot the exact period. We were travelling in Florida, saw CPQ dropped 10 pt from CNN program one night in the hotel. DELL dropped in sympathy to 23 that was 3 2-1 splits ago. Street lowered their view on CPQ and CPQ subsequently beat it.

Judy- I will be very interestingly watching for events on pre-warning as time passes. I think lot of bad news is well priced in the market-Lets watch with interest I think a break of 280 and close below it will be well before any of your major stock come with preannouncement-

judy, remember we are in erning warning period, things may not as bad as warnings are. since, the bad news comes out first.

orcl, csco etc. had a very high pe anyway. high pe maybe justified if consitency in the earning is maintained (i.e. KO, MSFT), so
naturally when ORCL short falls first they have to give a haircut
for the high pe to beigin with and then for the shortfall. Asia
is a great excuse.

EFII....why are people treating this company as if it is going out of
buisness sale? i m tempted to pick it up. any opinions?
