They lived 2500 years ago for Christs sake and just started thinking about that stuff. You are like Brumar you don't seem to have perspective based on when they lived. The rest of the world was very primitive at that time.

We only got rid of slavery 150 years ago. Washington and Jefferson had slaves. The heights the ancient
Greeks achieved intellectually was nothing short of breathtaking e.g. Plato's "The Republic" would be a master piece if written today.

Especially: The Allegory of the Cave. Everyone who wants to learn should read it.

Our constitution was the first really great success at democracy and that is just a little over 200 years old.

Plato and Socrates lived 2500 years ago. The were giants. They both understood the social contract.

Republicans still don't understand it-lol.

Basically what you're doing is taking all the heroes in history and redefining them as "liberal", LOL.
