We used to be the party of ideas, solutions and moderation.

Could you elaborate? Other than RR, I don't remember that. I suppose you could call what Nixon did by eliminating tensions between the U.S. and China an "idea" or "solution?" Would you also call it "moderation?"

we weren't reactionaries or a party that embraced the kind of antics

What kind of "antics" are you talking about?

moderates and independents are deciding the elections

That wasn't the case in either the 2008 or 2012 presidential elections. The people who voted Obama into office were neither moderate nor independent, they were hardened liberals/progressives and or Black i.e. racists. And it certainly wasn't true when repubs won the house in '10. The TP made that happen.

I think we need to fix our image problem or we're going to lose the house in Nov. We'll have the Dems on the ropes because Obamacare is going to be a problem.

I'm not at all worried about losing the House in '14. In fact I think we stand a very good chance of taking the Senate also. Obama and his constant lying has done more to damage the dem image than anything................including his critics.

Image matters - perception is everything.

It's a shame isn't it? Image matters more than experience and competence. All one need do is look at Obama for proof.

What really bothers me is pundits who say we have to appeal to this or that type of voter if we want to win elections. That is a very dangerous position to take. Millions of voters said screw you (to those pundits) and stayed home for the '12 election.

Alienating voters is not a winning strategy.

IYO what should the repub image look like?
