You'd know better than I, and I'm sure Feingold would have won if he'd run for the office because of all the money unions would have thrown his way. After all.............he would have assured them he'd protect them and their racket so it could continue into perpetuity. From an outsider's pov what I saw was a union driven frenzy of determined dedicated union bosses and union members frantic over the fact they was a possiblity they were going to lose the coercive, money making deal they had with the teachers union. IOW it was all about money and power, and they weren't going down without a fight. I have observed unions use thuggish tactics against anyone who gets in their way for years, and Walker is one of the few individuals I've ever seen react appropriately.

It takes an iron fist to fight tyranny.

I haven't kept up...........what has happened to the unions and education in Wisc since that fight ended?

And iron fist wasn't needed and resulted in the recall.
