I don't think you have to be concerned about putting J.F.K. down. Only his truly fanatical fans would attempt to defend him in light of the information being released on his life. As for a universally respected president, I can barely remember "Ike." In regard to Truman, I have no opinion except what I read from the history books (can be difficult to take a position on that alone). The problem with most of the president's from that era, and earlier, is we do not have as much inforamtion at our disposal as we do now. While to a certain extent that is good, I think the "pendulum" may be swinging too far in the other direction in SOME areas...not far enough in others. T.R.
