Long time owner and reader here..got hoisted by the run-up today

I have held ABTX and accumulated since the summer. I bought the first call options too (which were sold today at a nice profit, thank you).

This morning, I decided to make what I thought was an elegant play: I sold a July 12.50 call and tried to buy the stock to cover my sold-call: at $11...at $11.50...at $12...at 12.25...at $12.50... at 13

Phew! what a delightful chase. The market closed, and I still could not get shares to cover my sold-call. I feel as if I was chasing a kite with a broken string.

Talk about ambivalence. Part of me (that looks lovingly at my long holdings) is thrilled at the new high, and anticipates eagerly seeing 14 or higher tomorrow. But the part of me that wants to cover that sold-call says, "Damn it, why couldn't the stock wait a mere 15 minutes before breaking out of the barn?"

I suppose this proves that too much candy can sometimes have an adverse effect.
