Zoroastrianism is a very ancient religion, so it has its own share of goofiness added to it over the centuries. But it gets a lot of things right.for example its creation myth is not about whether or not Adam came first or which race is better, but rather it states that a tree was planted in heaven. It had one body that forked into two branches (man and woman) and the branches twisted around each other and gave 6 fruits (black, yellow, brown, white, etc) and those fruits were the humans. You can't have a more equality minded creation myth than that!

But they got 3 things going against them. Firstly, over time they got their own crap added in and struggled with their own version of the inquisition. That made it susceptible to Islamic conversion (not all by force). And finally, the survivors married the religion with race (similar to Judaism) and as a result ruined their chances of expansion. Some day when I retire, I may decide to clean up and revive the religion - open to all - and there will be nothing its priesthood can do about it :D

But that is too time consuming of an adventure for now.

later,
ST

I maintain that agnosticism is the only rational choice. All these religions can't be right, but I'm not sure about atheism either. So, I take a pass. Religions fascinate me though, in their wacky attempts to answer the ultimate question.

The movie, "Prometheus" seems as likely as any of them, but even it just kicks the buck up a level as, if the Prometheans created us, who created them?
