Once again, Dan, I'll have to chime in: I think Windows is the problem here, not IE (but hey, they're the same thing, right?). I'm yet to find an app that uninstalls cleanly. Do you know if NT4 is better at it?

I like the idea of you trying IE4 on your system. Let us know how you like it (I think you will).

Also, I'm still baffled by the problems you've had with your Win95 system. Obviously, your troubles are not indicative of the "Windows Experience." It may be too late now, but you should demand a replacement for that lemon they sent you. Not being able to shut off the computer without worries that about if it will come back the next time is ridiculous--especially considering that Windows has a memory-leak problem, and must be rebooted regularly.

State to review Microsoft college deal news.com

This is just a followup to an old story, about the California University system and some exclusive source deal. No quotes for now, but my system is much snappier with the latest reformat, reinstall. Do it early and often, I say, I hope my new CD burner comes soon so I can automate the process somewhat!

Cheers, Dan.
