Freepster,

I believe Ancor means customers. I believe Ancor has had over 130 customers (installed base), whereas Brocade is getting a nice load from one customer, SQNT. Granted, the oems are where the money will be.

ALL IMHO

Freep,

You are correct in being confused. They may be talking about largest number at one particular installation. The mysterious Japanese customer is rumored to have 150 - 200 switches in place. Even using Brocade's method of counting ports, this is a maximum of 3200, no where near their competitors projected numbers.

Maybe Carla K. will clarify in the presentation tomorrow.

Freep, "Customer Base", as I understand it, is total # of customers. And this is important.wj

Freep: Customer Base. Ancor's is very wide [130 as of Q2] just not very deep. Brocade, on the other hand, started out addressing the OEM storage market which has a fewer number of opportunities but with large size, and their top line has benefitted from early success. In terms of today's PR, it is valid for Ancor to point out that no one has supported more customers, in various locations [including international ] than they have. Good marketing point.
