I always use the histogram with 0 xover for visual effect. But all MACDs are made up of three entry items. the difference between the first two(13-34) is a measure of momentum, the 89 is choosen because I have found important cycles at 180 days, 1/2 the circle. You use MAs of 1/2 the cycle, took oe off to get to a fibonacci number.

with a line presentation, you have two lines you want the momentum to be above the 89 day ma of momentum.
