steve,

Yes I am sure I've read thoise books and yes you are correct in what McMillan says about naked puts! I said that selling naked puts was very risky, and yes you are right if one hedges them as you said! I was referring to naked puts not hedged puts!

I remember in 87 were a broker was shot by a client that had sold naked puts and could not cover them in the crash! I also remember here just in Oct. where one of George Soros's fund manager lost big time with selling naked puts! But I can not recall were there have been major loses in selling naked calls! Must be that no one but me sells the things! Or could it be that stocks tend to drop must faster and harder when they do drop compared to how fast they can go up! In doing so it allows people that are not willing to go short the stock to get out, where as if one were in ORCL or OXHP or a number of other companies that have tanked does so must harder and faster! Think about that and let me know what I'm seeing and doing wrong now!

I'm still a seller of naked calls and at some point I guess I will be a seller of naked puts if and after we have the correction I see coming! Again I would only sell naked puts if I were willing to go long the stock and I would sure not be a seller of naked puts on DELL or any other high tech stock as jbi3 mentioned to me doing earlier today!
