I noticed that the free QuickTake 200 offer has disappeared from the Apple Store. I called Apple's 800 number and was told that the offer is no longer in effect at this time but seems to imply that it is possible that it may be reimplemented in the future.

<<Edward, not necessarily off-base. It's just that Apple can't make a sub-$1000 computer in a cost-effective way. Yet.>>

They were doing fine in 1990 with the Mac Classic, which went for $999. Whatever happened to that price level?
