Carlson,

Shorted ECI in the high 30's and closed the position out in the low 20's! Thought it would go to the $8 to $10 level, but was wrong last time! It did go the the low teens, but I got greedy thinking it would go the $8 to $10 and then covered in the low 20's as it started back up! I said when I covered that I thought ECI would be dead money for some time which it has turned out to be!

Currently I am not short, but if I had to take a position I would be out of ECI if I were long or would go short in my case! As far as earnings go for 1998, I do not see anything in their latest reportings were they are tuning anything major around! I still do not like their accounting of rep sales, for if it were not for the rep fees that ECI collected it would be a money losing company forsure! Most longs will diagree with me on that statement, but remember I have a business degree from the Un. of Arkansas which means I can not read a income statement, so the ECI bulls say! Like I said it may be a great company to work for, but do not expect to much from the stock! I will predict that you will see the low teens again before you see the high 20's!

Hank
