You're being silly. I am a firm believer in not protecting the people from the consequences of their actions. Or rather more accurately, I believe there must always be a timely and proportional decision feedback. So without getting into nuances such as allowing fraud because the victim should have known better and the like, I actually tend to agree with a good chunk of the philosophy that the author has a negative view of.

At the same time, I am a libertarian. So I fully relate to the "disgust" factor they talk about. There are plenty of behaviors that I find disgusting but am willing to support as legal so long as it meets libertarian ethos. Something that I cannot say for my conservative friends (yes I have a few :). This is anecdotal but validates parts of the research.

The author however clearly has his own bias and I am not responsible for that. If you can't see that, oh well.
