I'm curious how you "humanely" discourage bad behavior, where the poor are concerned. I can understand how you can financially penalize the wealthy, but what do you see as the way forward with the poor?

Of course everyone needs insurance.


It is basic to understanding and discussing these matters that one clearly distinguishes the need for health CARE from the need for health INSURANCE

We as a population have been effectively brainwashed into using these terms interchangeably

They are not

Health care is the function of providing services and materials used in the promotion of health and healing

Health insurance is a rent seeking entity layered between those wanting or needing health care and the means of providing that care

As such, it is a cost driver to the health care industry, a major reason why health care as a fraction of the GDP of the US is significantly higher than any peer country, and outcomes are no better and often worse

..and those other folks have fat people too
